National Poetry Month Writing Challenge: Week 1

Hi y’all. On the occasion of national poetry month, I have taken up the task of writing a poem a day, for the entire month, under a custom and eclectic 30 day challenge. Feel free to pick topics from my writing list below, and challenge yourselves to write some wonderful poetry. I would love to read your poems, so go ahead and drop in links to your poetry in the comments.

My thirty day poetry writing list. So far, it has challenged me out of my comfort zone at every step.

Meanwhile, here is my poetry from week one. Feel free to tell me which one is your favourite, or even rank them if you will. Till then, au revior.

Day 1: Every line starting with the letter ‘S’
Day 2: Gray
Day 3: Poem incorporating first ten words from page 8 of any book. I chose ‘The Honest Truth’
Day 5: Writing a haiku
Day 6: Where is home to you?
Day 7: Poem incorporating 4 random verbs, nouns and adjectives. I used a random word generator.

Thank you so so much my friend. I am so glad to receive this comment. I am beaming.
You don’t have to worry about the sequence at all. Just pick out the topics that are most intriguing or most challenging and make a custom schedule for yourself for the last three weeks. It is just meant to push us poets out if our comfort zones.
All the best. I cannot wait to see what you write.

The problem is that I feel really shy showing people my poems.

Then why don’t you keep the poems to yourself? Infact, there is some poetry that is meant only for ourselves to read. If you do want somebody to read your poetry, please know, I will be here with the best regards.
