The twisted woods enveloped,
In lifeless gray haze,
The night ever so motionless,
An indomitable maze,
Woody naked branches,
And their distorted canopies,
Dark flowers bleeding down,
On leafless, dying trees.
The forest floor rustling,
Under chilling, voiceless screams,
So realistically fictitious,
Like sombre lucid dreams.
Weirdly humid,
But every breath so icy cold,
Frostbite on our cotton cheeks,
And fear manifold.
The feeling of being watched,
From starless, dead skies,
Trepidation in the heart,
Till ‘she’ finally dies.
‘She’ the dark side of night,
Who hunts in silence alone,
Where her enchanting beauty,
Washes down to unforgiving bones.
Intimidating her preys,
Forcing hallucinations dark and deep,
Beauty without wisdom,
I hope you go to sleep.

Very nice shanyu, keep it up buddy.

Oh this was frighteningly beautiful my dear friend. The Night Break part 1 was so enchanting, showing the mesmerizing, mystical and gorgeous side of the night.
This was so intense and perfectly captured the dark side of the night.
“The forest floor rustling,
Under chilling, voiceless screams,
So realistically fictitious,
Like sombre lucid dreams.” Chilling. Sent shivers down my spine.
“‘She’ the dark side of night,
Who hunts in silence alone,
Where her enchanting beauty,
Washes down to unforgiving bones.” So stunning.
Splendid piece dear Shanyu!
Love.💛

Dear oh dear,
You blow me away. I’m so so moved by your wonderful comment. Thank you so much. Really grateful.
These are actually some old poems that I pulled out. It was a wonderful concept for myself, how a single moment can seem so vividly different. I have always loved the night, perhaps so much, as to write about it so fondly.
I’m so glad you like the poem. To get this comment in itself validates all the work that goes behind my poetry.
Thank you so much Ishita. Really really made me happy.
Have a fantastic day.

This is a perfect counterpoint to pt. I! Whereas the first is beauty with a hint of darkness, this is unapologetic darkness that is at the same time oh so beautiful.
