The grainy monochromatic photograph

A fading red heart on a
Dusty cover page of an
Album bound with memories of
People holding hands, and of
Eyes perhaps happier than
Those staring at them, because,

Sepia tones and tattered corners,
Black and white and worn out borders,
Have eyes that smiled at each other, not
Those that smiled at cameras, for

Pictures cannot just wait to start, How fast it all can fall apart.

So evocative of the emotions stirred by looking at an old photograph. Well done!
many thanks for following my blog.
    Best wishes, Pete.
(Just a thought. I would suggest that you remove your (very young) age from the profile. There are some strange people online)

  5. Very much like a monochromatic photo, your poem is rich with the intricacies of a bygone era. Once upon a time everything was much less complicated- black and white if you will. Your penning is magnificent!

Wow this is a wonderful thing to say. I’m so glad you like the piece. Thank you so very much. And yes the things were much less complicated as you said, and it’s a shame we see them as monochromes and sepias. Thank you once again. You seem to have made me so happy.

      1. It is indeed an honorable pleasure, Shanyu! Less complicated as we see it… For those living back in the day, perhaps not. A great pleasure…
