I aim for the moon
And the stars that twinkle close,
To be part of every poem
And lines of every prose.
To be a minute of every hour
And a part of every life,
The music in the thunder
The success and every strife.
I want to be the mystery,
The beauty of the night,
I want to be the secrets
Of the darkness of the light.
I want to share the sunrise someday
And be part of someone’s glee,
A pair of legs to walk the world
When someone walks with me.
I want to embrace everything
And be able to touch as many,
For you can impact a thousand lives
Without ever touching any!

More kudos for a sublime poem, Shanyu, with a most worthwhile ending. You are so right about impacting a thousand lives without touching any. You’ve reminded me of the ripple effect. Too often we think our circles of influence are small, but they’re most likely much larger than we realize. And that’s a good thought to keep us encouraged!
